Consulting in Tough Economic Times
Me: How was the meeting this morning?
Co-Worker: Awesome
Me: Srsly?
Co-Worker: I attended cause I have nothing better to do
Me: And it kept you entertained?
Co-Worker: Yes of course
Opinions Needed!
I found out on Friday that I needed to reformat my work resume (the one we provide to potential clients). The new format includes a picture. Nothing from Facebook was appropriately croppable, and I didn’t feel like making an appt at our office to have one taken (at home photo-futzing is more fun).
I’ve narrowed down yesterday’s playing to my three favorites. Yeah, my eyes...
The Color of Magic by Terry Pratchett My rating: 3 of 5 stars
I really enjoyed my introduction into Discworld. I can’t wait to continue reading the series and find out more about its quirks and magic.
Pratchett’s writing style didn’t toally immerse me in the characters’ lives (in, say, the way JK Rowlin’s did). But I did enjoy his totally imaginative, completely...
Lose For Good
As you may know, I’m currently doing Weight Watchers to lose some elle bees. I’ve lost 11 pounds, I feel amazing, I’m loving the program, etc.
In addition to being awesome for all those reasons, WW also rules because between 08/03/09 - 10/17/09 they’re donating $250,000 for every 1 million pounds lost by its members. WW is donating to some amazing organizations that...

Wreck This Journal: Page 155: Lose This Page
I’m pretty good at losing stuff and this page was no different! Just ripped it out one Friday afternoon on the train ride home to NYC on an NJTransit train. Stuffed it in the arm of the seat in front of me.
So at the time I stuffed it in the arm, there was no one sitting in the seat. No big deal. But after a couple of stops a lady did get on the train and sit in the...

Wreck This Journal: Page 101: DOODLE
The title page has some classic doodles of mine. I’m not much of a doodler in meetings (I usually just had a laptop…and usually, thankfully, I’m doing some talking or thinking in meetings, so there’s not much room for doodling). I thought back to things I would typically doodle during classes.
I’m not very artistic. The top part of the page shows the geometric...

Wreck This Journal: Page 167: Document Time...
I documented my train ride home on Friday, August 28th. I took the 2:19pm train home, because it was Friday and I had no afternoon meetings. You can click to enlarge.
Oh and I made it home without peeing my pants. Barely.

Wreck This Journal: Page 177: Write/Scribble on...
So page 177 instructs me to write/scribble on the edges of the journal.
This isn’t really a problem, except for the fact that in my zeal to fill a page with office supplies, I’ve got some paper clips and tacks in there that make shutting the book completely a little difficult. I started off with some hearts, mostly just because I was slightly obsessed with my red G-2...

Yum. And I don't mean the food.
I hadn’t gone through my pictures from our vacation to Long Beach Island until now. We had such a good vacation, and most nights were filled with delicious home grilled food, courtesy of my boyfriend, the grill-master.
But the real treat wasn’t the food (although it was amazing). The real treat was watchin’ my man slave over a hot grill.
You’re welcome ladies.

This is my favorite page so far, no jokes.
I’ve been doing a lot of crosswords lately.

Digital Fortress by Dan Brown My rating: 2 of 5 stars
Oh Dan Brown. I grabbed my boyfriend’s copy of this book off of our bookshelf, because it was Sunday and I desperate for something to read.
Typical thriller novel. Contrived plot, annoyingly succinct chapters, shallow character studies, predictable resolutions. The technological vehicles were mildly interesting, given that I work in...
