Maybe-Not

Hi, I'm Laura.

I'm training for a marathon to raise money for charity.

Team in Training!

A nice benefit of my recent job change has been being around in NYC consistently.  Partially because of that (and mostly because I need to get off my lazy ass) I decided to challenge myself in 2010 with a New Year’s resolution of completing a half-marathon (plus I was pretty inspired by Tim and Stef’s recent rockstar accomplishments).  Resolutions are great for personal growth, but I wanted to make my resolution a whole lot more meaningful and benefit more than just me.  I took the plunge and signed-up to train for the San Diego half-marathon on June 6th with Team In Training!

As a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Team In Training Program, I will not only be contributing to my own personal growth and health: I will be helping those afflicted by leukemia, Hodgkin and non-Hodgkin lymphoma, and myeloma.  I can’t do it simply by running alone (if only curing cancer were that easy!).  I need your generous support to reach my fundraising goal.

I know there are a lot of other charities vying for your attention right now (especially with the crisis in Haiti).  And while those organizations need your help for an acute disaster, we cannot overlook the ongoing personal disasters cancer patients fight through every day. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is at the forefront blood cancer research, as well as providing patient assistance.

Please visit my fundraising website at http://doiop.com/GoLaura to learn more about your donation.  Even a small donation is greatly appreciated! (How much did you spend at Starbucks today?)  If you wanna see me sweat a little before you fork it over, visit my TNT blog at http://laura.gpowered.net, where I will be posting about all things TNT.

Thank you for considering a donation!  Completing a half-marathon is really nothing compared to the challenge of fighting cancer (or at least I’ll keep telling myself that when I wanna quit at mile 11).
