Post Cleanse Thoughts

My three day juice cleanse, courtesy of BluePrint Cleanse (I won a free cleanse from a contest on More Than Mary), was largely a success.  I never felt dizzy, lightheaded, or starving.  Certainly my body missed food, but I think these effects were more mental than physical.  The juices were pretty tastey.  The green juice grew on me and I continued to love the cashew milk (I must figure out how to get a hold of something like this on a regular basis).

I eat fairly healthy to begin with, and I adhered to the recommended vegan/raw diet in the two days leading up to the cleanse, which I think really helped the transition as well.  However, the day after the cleanse I was only able to eat raw/vegan for 2/3 of the day.  I had made plans to go out to eat with some girlfriends, and although I tried to make healthy choices (I didn’t order the baklava!), my stomach was not happy with me.  I had some serious bowel issues immediately after.

Overall, I would do a cleanse again.  I did feel refreshed and healthy.  And it has certainly given me a fresh perspective on what I put in my body.  I don’t know if I would say it “erased my cravings”, as some people claim cleanses do, but I just add the feelings I had on the cleanse to my arsenal of reminders for why I should consistently make healthier choices.
